ENC calls on President Jammeh to step down

ENC, a Gambian artist, has called on President Yaya Jammeh to peacefully step down and hand over power. Ensa Colley was speaking to over 20,000 youths at the recently organized Open Mic festival at the Independence Stadium. This is a night dedicated to Gambian music and it is celebrated in a form of a festival where many Gambian youths come out to celebrate.ENC, a Gambian artist, has called on President Yaya Jammeh to peacefully step down and hand over power. “He must step down”, says ENC during his performance at the Open Mic. During his performance one could hear people shouting STEP DOWN and they were speaking the Mandinka language.
ENC who did not entertain lot of questions after his performance, said as an artist you need to be an ambassador of the people and the people are speaking with one voice that is calling on the outgoing president to step down.Other artists who performed at the stadium also made similar requestsLast month, the music union of the Gambia made a press release also calling on outgoing president Yahya Jammeh to respect the will of The Gambian people by peacefully transferring executive power to President-Elect.
