The people of Baddibou Kubandarr in the Upper Baddibou District in the North Bank Region have expressed their loyalty to President-Elect Adama Barrow.
Speaking on behalf of the Alkalo (the village head), Bakary Mambureh, congratulated Barrow on winning the December 1 presidential election and promised him of their loyalty and unflinching support.
Mr Mambureh underscored the importance of a peaceful election, saying this year’s election in the Gambia is second to none in the whole.
“The election was free and transparent. The people of Gambia have expressed their voices and demonstrated with maturity during the course of the election process,” he said.
He finally advised the outgoing president Jammeh to respect the outcome of the December 1 election and peacefully hand over power to the president-elect Adama Barrow for the benefit of the country.
Lamin Ndaw praised the president-elect Adama Barrow for his patience and peaceful personality before and after the election, promising him of their support and loyalty.
He advised people to desist from violence, adding that conflict has no place in the Gambia because “when conflict happens, the consequences are always catastrophic.”
He urged the outgoing president to consider the children, old people, the sick and the differently able, and hand over power to the new president when his term expires.
