Agric Minister presides over rice distribution in KMC

The Minister of Agriculture Honorable Omar Jallow on Tuesday presided over the official distribution of rice to Kanifing Municipality Council (KMC), donated by the People’s Republic of China to Gambia Government.
The distribution, held at KMK annexed in Kanifing, was attended by National Assembly Members, Alkalolu, Councilors, and religious leaders.

Speaking at the distribution, the Agric minister OJ thanked the Chinese Government for swiftly responding to their request back in February.

Minister Jallow added that China has always been there for the Gambia since the first republic, saying they built the Independence Stadium, court houses in Banjul, Police headquarters and six health centers in the country and are ready to do more.

“What I like about the Chinese government is that, when they are helping they help directly in what is affecting the lives of the people; to improve the lives of the people, without any conditions.”

The Chinese Ambassador to Gambia HE Zhang Jiming, assured that the cooperation between the two countries will ever remain stronger and China will continue supporting Gambia.
Permanent Secretary at the ministry of local Government Baba Sanyang hailed the efforts of China, describing them as true friends of the Gambia.

The Mayor of Kanifing Municipality, Yankuba Colley, highlighted the numerous support rendered to the government by China, while thanking them on behalf of his municipality.
Alkalo Abdoulie Joof of Kololi, thanked Chinese Government and assured them that the rice will be distributed judiciously.

KMC received 13 tons whiles North Bank Region, 8 tons.
