‘Jammeh must comeback’

By Omar Bah

The national mobiliser of the APRC has said that former President Jammeh must return to The Gambia “by all means”.

Mayor Yankuba Colley said this at the Barra ferry terminal yesterday during his party’s trip to provincial Gambia, a tour designed to rebrand the APRC’s image.
“Yahya Jammeh must come back by all means. Why not? People always talk about whether Jammeh should come back or not, but to me it is a matter of must because he is a Gambian like any one of us. I see no reason why Jammeh should not come back,” he said.

He added: “Jammeh has done nothing that should warrant him to stay in exile. He is a Gambian. He should come back by all means, this is his country.”

Meanwhile, jubilant supporters of the party dressed in APRC greens and T-shirts emblazoned with Jammeh’s images were heard chanting “Jammeh must comeback!”
Mayor Colley said although more political parties are emerging in The Gambia, the APRC still has the strongest national mobiliser in the country [himself] to ward off any potential threats.

“I believe I am still the strongest national mobiliser in the country. I am not worried because I know how the country’s politics works and I know we still have the support and surely we shall thrive,” he added.
The APRC interim leader Fabakary Tombong Jatta said the tour is meant to engage the party loyalists and strategise a way forward.
“From there we see what should be done to address their concerns to determine the case of The Gambia right now,” he said.

“Fro, one year ago, no Gambian can point to one development that the Coalition has brought to the country, except poverty and unfulfilled promises. They spend all year talking about Yahya Jammeh but that will not fill the belly of the hungry people in The Gambia. So, this is why we want to go out to talk to people about the situation in the country,” he said.

He said after 12 months of smear campaign against the APRC, it is time for them to respond to their detractors and clear all the doubts raised.
He said Gambians should be able to gauge between the lines and not allow political parties to deceive them.
“APRC as a political party will ensure that whatever they say will be beyond reprove. We will never lie to Gambians again. Be reassured that, God willing, the next government will be the APRC,” he enthused.

  1. The APRC Leaders should be simply seen as nothing but what they are mendacious and indifferent to the over two decades of suffering, common thievery and retrogression they enabled Yahya Jammeh and his criminal cronies to visit on Gambians. Don’t these people have no feelings. Think of what happened to innocents like Alagies Jobe and Ceesay. If these people have an iota of shame and thought they should apologize to Gambians or shut up.

  2. Let Yaya Jammeh come back, nobody stop him from coming back to Gambia, in fact we need him to come and answer to his deeds. I think you people campaigning for Yaya Jammeh should visit the mental health unit of RVTH for consultation. APRC owe an apology to the Gambian especially to the families of victims who were murdered during Jammeh era and those who suffered torture and other abuses. APRC please stop insulting Gambians. Yankuba Colley and Fabakary Tombong Jatta where were you when Jammeh was destroying the country especially we the youths. How many youths have lost their lives under APRC regime? You people are really out of your mind.

  3. To be honest I cannot still believe that there are still people in the Gambia with the right thinking capacify talking about APRC or Dictator Yaya Jammeh of coming back to the Gambia as a free man. After all the clear revelations of their secret killing of innocent people who have no clues of what is going on. I don’t want to say the names of those stupid people who are still chanting about Yaya jammeh because they are of no importance. I know for sure that there is no genuine Gambian with the right senses talking about APRC or Yaya jammeh. Perhaps Yaya jammeh must come back to the Gambia to face justice and serve his life imprisonment.

  6. Bring him back by all means then he can return the millions of dollars he stole from his people, the present government is doing what it can, but as the previous evil dictator emptied the banks of ordinary gambian people’s money there is nothing left in the pot to bring gambia into the 21st century, he was a killer, a thief , a fantasist, let him rot in hell.

  7. If Africans understand nothing, it is History. Our people are so poor in history that we cannot use it to shape our destiny.
Nigeria is experiencing ruins because the leaders that were chased out at a time would still come back again with the support of their corrupt allies to unleash more terror!
Were Gambians not dying in poverty when Yahyah Jammeh was their authoritarian?

  11. You detractors have done everything to delete the gallant APRC from the Gambian political spectrum without success. I really praise the astute interim APRC leaders for the excellent job they are doing in getting the Party back on her feet. Only the Gambian voters can disband this great party. No politician or political nuisance can do that. PERIOD!
Say whatever you want to say while we continue to exercise our rights as excellent citizens of the Gambia. Who can stop that?

  13. Fabakary Tombong Jatta was and still the biggest fool I ever saw in my life. Where is his senses when he and his colleagues wanted to overturned the will of the people in The National Assembly and its the same man talking about fighting for Gambians. As for Yankuba Colley shut your mouth and continue to be the boot licker you will always be. APRC has the opportunity to turned GAmbia around but instead, decided to go on rampant killing of innocent citizens, Rampant corruption and embezzlement of state coffers. APRC is dead and will never wake up again, just keep wasting your sorriful lives and time.

  14. I think the worst enemy of YAYA JAMMEH today is Yankuba Colley. He wanted to see Yaya Jammeh Suffer in cuffs and Bamba Dinka for what ever reasons known to him alone. How could you hate your former Boss so badly to ask him come here”by all means”. Yanks you have enough on your head to worry . Yaya you like it or not will come here in chains and shackles as he did on to others.

  15. I cannot under the APRC supporters the likes of F.T. Jatta and the blank unconcerned self-centred Seedy Njie, who portrays Yaya Jammeh’s regime as perfect . These same people help Yaya to loot murder and main the citizens without intervening in anyway, instead they voted and d supported his draconian laws. Are these people human. You think Gambian are stupid to stand by and let you repeat your barbaric actions. You should crawl back to wherever you came from and spend the rest of your lives scrabbling your SINS. Go and leave us in peace to greave and repair the country.
