The Handball Association has been dissolved by the National Sports council, NSC, Council chairman Borrie Darboe confirmed yesterday.
Speaking to The Standard Darboe said the decision came as the only logical conclusion to a long standing upheaval in the body characterized by accusations and counter accusations that made the body unworkable.
He said the association had been given a chance to sot out their problems and agree to a congress but the dispute lingers even affecting who is qualified to vote at congress.
“We have now decided to appoint an interim caretaker committee to look into the whole affairs of the association with view to hold a proper congress in due course,” Darboe said.
The NSC chairman said some of these issues surfacing to be come monsters now should have long been tackled years ago and that he and his staff will now tackle them for a lasting solution in the interest of the game.
