Former pupils of The Queen’s School reunite to help Gambia Women’s Initiative
Three old Chester school friends, who now live thousands of miles from each other, have reunited to improve the lives of women in The Gambia. Carol Cunningham, Ingrid Strawson and Fiona Hirsig, all former pupils at The Queen's School, have been working for the Gambia Women's Initiative (GWI), a project founded by Carol to help women living in rural Gambia.....
Over US$11m World Bank grant for Gambian education
The World Bank has approved to give The Gambia government an International Development Assistance grant amounting to US$11.9 million to support the country's new education project, a news release from the Bank's Banjul Office revealed.
