Abdoulie Chaw aka Moja, a recording artiste from Bakau, is currently working on a 4-song album. The songs are Jongoma, Love Story, Mbalakh Petawbi and Sow Mou Weekh Mi.
Speaking to Standard Lite earlier this week, Moja would not commit himself to revealing the album launch date, but said it will be “very soon”.
He also disclosed that he has worked on an “album project” since 2008 but it has not been released “due to some financial difficulties and lack of sponsors”.
According to him, so far, his discography boasts of a complement of 36 songs and 2 videos “with more in the pipeline coming”.
He said he worked on collabo projects with Cess Ngum, Manding Morry, MLC, Amie Dibba and others. He said he has also worked with the country’s numero uno backing band, The Holy Family Band as well as Petawbi Blood Brothers band.
He said Gambians need to put more resources into Gambian music “simply because that’s the only thing that can put us on an international level”. He said music has developed in other countries, because their people support them and that’s what he is also expecting from the Gambian people.
