EU, UN tell countries to back campaign to end FGM
Every year, millions of girls and women worldwide undergo Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and have their quality of life drastically altered by this practice. FGM is internationally recognised as a violation of the human rights of girls and women, and is an example of the continued inequality between males and females in our societies. It violates a person's rights to health, sexual and reproductive rights, security and physical integrity.
