ChildFund The Gambia Monday organised a reception to honour the organisation’s Global Leadership Team (Golt) from ChildFund International.
The event also accorded ChildFund Gambia “a unique opportunity to share the impacts of its work in the country through alumni testimonies and statements from its two main partner ministries (health and education).
The country director of ChildFund The Gambia, Musukuta Komma Bah, said the visit by Golt will serve as an opportunity for country offices and local partners to further strengthen growth.

The Chairman of the advisory board of ChildFund The Gambia, Musa Mbaye, said the occasion was a platform to “appreciate the commitment of ChildFund International in supporting the development of The Gambian children.”
“It is also an occasion to extend our feeling of love devoted to our children and to renew our continuous commitments,” he added.
The deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary education, Adama Jimba Jobe, said the government “is aware of ChildFund’s interventions in the country, particularly in the education sector.

“The number of schools built and the supply of educational materials to these schools among many others are clear manifestation of your pledge to help the deprived, excluded and vulnerable children in The Gambia,” he commended.
He said the government has observed with “interest” developments brought by ChildFund since its inception in 1984.

He said: “We will continue to work with ChildFund for the betterment of children in The Gambia and please be assured of my ministries readiness for a more fruitful engagement with the ChildFund.”
Other speakers included the fund’s Africa Regional director, Victor Okoya, and Alasana Badjie, who gave a testimony of his life and support received from ChildFund.
