Furthermore, an ECHO conducted on confirmed the Tetralogy of Fallot and also showed that there was accessory tricuspid tissue billowing into the subaortic area and shortness of breath on exertion.

He was discharged and has had no further problems. He remains stable on ferrous sulfate 200mg OD and propranolol 20mg TDS.

However, doctors recommended that he would benefit from cardiac surgery which is not available in the Gambia thereby requiring an overseas treatment.

The visibly emotional father said he is desperately trying to raise funds to get his son out of the country.

“I do not want to lose hope but life is unbearable for me and my family,” Jallow said.

“We are in dire need of help. This is affecting my son’s schooling. I am calling on any person, philanthropists, organizations, institutions, and government to support us so that my son can continue his schooling,” he pleaded.
