An advocacy group called ‘Gambia Kiling, one Gambia in Mandinka, has been registered to complement government’s efforts in reconciling the Gambian people above political affiliations.
The group intends to conduct sensitization campaigns on radio and other media outlets as well as collaborate with the IEC during the coming mayoral election to conduct Flash Mob shows to sensitize the people on the need for oneness despite political differences.
The group will this Saturday stage their first outreach programme, a sensitization meeting and community cleaning exercise in Busumbala.

Speaking to The Standard, the Chairman of the organisation, Mr Momodou Salieu Jallow, popularly known by his studio name DJ Bombastic, said the purpose of coming up with such a group is to help government in its drive to unify the country and also to sensitize the populace about this new found democracy.
“We have also invited some prominent and top level Gambians to join the organisation in Busumbala this Saturday for our maiden outreach to the community since our establishment a month ago,” Jallow said.
He said the association is non-political and therefore all are urged to participate to the set-settal and the sensitisation meeting without any party symbol.

In a separate development, the organization is also planning to stage a friendly football match between the Cabinet and the National Assembly Members as part of celebrations marking the 53rd Independence Anniversary of The Gambia.
