Gambian solar tech start-up wins Seedstars Banjul

Seedstars World Banjul recently awarded a Gambian solar technology startup Nadji.bi Ltd as the “Best Startup” in The Gambia.

The award comes after Nadji.bi Ltd was deemed to have the best innovative sustainable solution – a solar solution for 1.3 million potential customers.

The event was staged at a hotel in Kololi.

Seedstars World is a Switzerland based startup competition that takes place in emerging markets.

Nine selected startups were invited for the Banjul event to present their companies in front of the local jury panel.

Nadji.Bi Gambia Ltd will now proceed to represent The Gambia at the Seedstars Africa summit as well as compete for a $500.000 investment prize at the Seedstars upcoming global summit in Switzerland.

The winner will receive a 3-month access to an investment readiness program.

Other competing startups for the Banjul event were Fatim Badjie Sinyan, the CEO for Ace Communications Executive, Saul Frazer, the managing director & CEO of Global Properties, Mbaye Kah, manager, Khamsys Technologies, Seedy Bensouda – CEO and founder, Insist Global, Muhammad M Jagana, CEO J-Financial Services, Suwaibou Cham, senior expert, Private Sector Development GIZ and Ramatoulie B Gaye, CEO Bridging Gaps Advisory.

David Jeng of Bliss Executives, who is also the Ambassador of Seedstars World Gambia, organised the event with Seedstars World’s bronze partner Yep.

The EU, ITC, GAIN and Paradise Suites Hotel provided further support.

Seedstars Banjul also featured a fireside chat on accessing funds through Angel Networks for your Startups.

The other startups invited to pitch were Afri Black Community, eDeals, Jollof-Trade Online B2B/B2C Marketplace, Madani Studios, Nesthet Clinical Services, and Tesitoo Entrepreneurship.
