The MoU was aimed at assisting GICA on technical matters in the accounting profession in the Gambia.
Speaking at the ceremony, the president of the ICAN, Alhagi Ismaila Zakari, said the strategic policy of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria is to collaborate and establish strong cordial relationships with high profile institutions including Governments, Professional Accountancy Organisations, Foreign Embassies and Diplomatic Missions as well as Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria and around the world.

“It is primarily in fulfillment of such collaboration and to further deepen and strengthen the already existing cordial and mutually beneficial relationship between ICAN and GICA that we are visiting you today.
“A strong relationship between ICAN and GICA is not only beneficial to our two Institutes but to our two countries, to the Association of Accountancy Bodies in West Africa (ABWA) and the entire West Africa community.
