Officials of Gambia Immigration Department Tuesday held a day’s training on Risk Analysis Cell (RAC) at the immigration offices in Banjul.
Risk analysis is the process of identifying and analysing potential issues that could negatively impact key business initiatives or critical projects in order to help organisations avoid or mitigate those risks.
Superintendent Mamading S Dibba, said the training will help develop data gathering capabilities of the GID.

Enya Brown from the EU, praised the “commitment of the Gambian authorities” towards the training.
According to her, the EU delegation in The Gambia remains convinced that the regional workshop could be an important step in strengthening capacity between Africa-Frontex Intelligence Community (Afic) members.

Roman Fantini, a representative from Afic, said Afic has been recognised by the EU and other African partners as a module of effective cooperation in sharing joint risk analysis.
He added that the opening of a risk cell in Banjul marked the third opening since the coming of the project, following launchings in other African countries.
Representing the Interior minister, Ousman Ceesay said the initiative is “relevant to the security sector”. He said it will add value to on-going reforms in the sector.
Seedy M Touray, director general of GID, said the project is centered on migration and border security.
