The former APRC deputy leader Momodou Alieu Bah, has finally resigned from the former ruling party.
The former Interior minister was deposed as the party’s deputy leader in a recent power struggle within the APRC.
This followed calls by the exiled former Gambian leader urging the interim leader of the APRC Fabakary Tombong Jatta to expel Bah from the party.
In his resignation letter, Bah said after consulting with his family and close associates, he has decided to resign from the APRC.
“After a thoughtful consideration and in close consultation with my family and close associates, I have finally decided to tender my resignation from the APRC political party effective this Monday the 10th September 2018,” he said.
The former army general and Interior minister said he wished the party leadership and all APRC party militants “the best of luck” and also apologised to all those who gave their time and support to him during his time in the party.
