Major reshuffle at SIS

Sources close to the State Intelligence Service have revealed a major reshuffle in the service’s management and operational structure.
According to our sources, the SIS’s airport, seaport and other border security commands have been restructured and surged.
This apparent swift move comes in the wake of the recent political farces and major security lapses at the airport.

The major reshuffle which saw the creation of two security directorates for airport and seaport respectively, is also said to affect the service’s internal and external security divisions, including its border operations.
It could be recalled that since coming to office as the Director General of SIS, Mr Ousman Sowe has on numerous occasions maintained that his primary managerial functions would include “….. restructuring, recasting, reshaping, and repositioning the country’s intelligence institution, making it more responsive to the current, emerging and ever dynamic security challenges facing the new Gambia.”
In so doing Mr Sowe had always said as a public service, the SIS will be alert and duly responsive to public concerns.
