Rohey Malick Lowe has become the only aspirant for the UDP ticket ahead of Sunday’s nation-wide primaries by the party for the local government elections.

According to official party sources, her rival Adama Kelepha Samba has withdrawn his bid for UDP sponsorship leaving only Lowe in the race and effectively making her the candidate for the party.

Also according to sources, Adama Samba has indicated his interest to contest on an independent ticket. A UDP supporter who spoke to The Standard praised Lowe for her courage as a woman and predicted victory for the party.
