The Fatu Network, a leading Gambia digital media outfit has opened its office for business, founder and proprietress Fatu Camara has revealed to The Standard.
According Fatu, the company, located on the 3rd Floor of Bayba building opposite the American Embassy, is a public relations agency that will specialize in event planning coordination, marketing, advertisement, talk shows and other media productions.

“Of course it will remain also as a source of current news and views on The Gambia as ever. We have now come home and will provide the best needs in media production in The Gambia for people who want to sell their events, goods and services as our mantra is ‘when we sell, it sells’” she said.

The FN boss said initially the plan was to set up a TV station “and there are about five investors who were ready to fund it but we have realised that the future belongs to digital media as even terrestrial TV stations will have to struggle catching up with a vibrant digital media. So we opted to go digital, using state-of-the-art facilities brought from abroad. We intend to provide the cutting edge in digital media in The Gambia.”
According to Fatu, the Network has engaged Gambians to encourage youth entrepreneurship and boost gainful employment in the country.

“We are of course independent because that is the only way we can serve all Gambians with divergent views. Yes we have been very vocal in the fight against Jammeh and are grateful for the new democracy but we shall still leave one eye opened to check on the new dispensation so that we don’t go back to those dark days,” she said.

Fatu said the era of Gambians going into exile is over and everyone must be here to contribute toward the betterment of the new country and that’s the mission of the Fatu Network.
