The investigations team of the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission TRRC in collaboration with the Police have began digging locations at the Yundum Barracks in search of mass graves of soldiers killed on November 11, 1994.
The team set out on Friday and continued the exercise on Saturday. An eyewitness told The Standard that the search concentrated around the area generally referred to by soldiers as the Cook House. So far, according our sources the team is yet to come across any remains after digging up earth around the suspected area mentioned by many solders testifying at the TRRC.

The team was led by Thomas Gomez, a police forensic expert, and Alagie Barrow, the lead investigator at the TRRC.
More than half a dozen soldiers are believed to have been buried in mass graves at the Barracks after their execution by the AFPRC junta for allegedly trying to overthrow their government. They include Lieutenants Basiru Barrow, Abdoulie Dot Faal, Abdoulie Bah, Buba Jammeh, Bakary Manneh (Nyancho), Gibril Saye, Lamin Darboe, Cadet Amadou Sillah, Sergeants Fafa Nyang, Basiru Camara and E.M Ceesay amongst others. The search continues.
