The people of Baddibu Kubandarr have called on President Adama Barrow and NGOs to help address an acute shortage of water affecting normal life of the inhabitants and their livestock.
The villagers made this appeal in an interview with The Standard reporter who visited the place after hearing of the serious water crisis there.

The villagers said their only source of water is through the village hand pump which is currently not working after a break down, making it impossible to draw water from the well.
Bakary Mambureh, the village Alkalo said they have suffered a lot now and what has started as a crisis has now turned to an emergency. “With the village pump broken down we all have to go to the school well which has also developed a problem with very little water being pumped out now, leading to an acute shortage, ” he lamented.

He further told The Standard that there are over 400 people in the village and over 500 heads of cattle and other animals at risk of going without safe drinking water.
The Alkalo called on Government, NGOs as well as philanthropists to urgently intervene and help his village with a borehole, which he said will solve the problem once and for all.
