A Sixty-year-old woman lost her life while her grandson sustained various degrees of injuries after a commercial van knocked them down when they were attempting to cross the Brikama-Serekunda Highway in Farato.
Sources added that the driver is with the police helping with investigations.

According to eye witnesses, the accident occurred late Thursday evening between 7 and 8pm. The woman, Jalo Janneh, reportedly died on the spot while her grandson, 4-year-old Karamo Makalo, sustained injuries and is currently at the EFSTH.
She was laid to rest on Friday in Nema Kunku Misira.
She is survived by three children.
