Gambian woman cleared of racism charge in London

Maria Njie, a disabled black woman from The Gambia, has been cleared of “racially aggravated assault” at London's Blackfriars Crown Court. Maria, 50, was accused of telling a senior British police officer to “get your monkeys out of my house” after a dawn drugs bust in Kentish Town, London, in July 2012. She was subsequently arrested and said the ensuing 18-month period of her trial was “hell” as her family had been unfairly targeted….
