New company poised to bridge knowledge in Gambian reinsurance market
Continental Reinsurance Corporation, one of the largest private reinsurance companies in Africa yesterday kicked-off a two-day training on non-life reinsurance. This training is specifically designed to increase and improve the knowledge and skills gap in non-life reinsurance in The Gambia insurance industry. According to organisers, it is part of efforts to develop the financial systems in Ecowas. The Nigeria-based pan-African company has partnered with the Insurance Association of The Gambia (IAG) to deliver the package to the local reinsurance industry. Pa Alieu Sillah, commissioner of nsurance at the Central Bank of The Gambia, said the training demonstrates the strong ties between Nigeria and The Gambia. He said the participants will gain technical knowledge and skills to enable their meaningful contribution to the growth and development of the various insurance companies in particular, and the economy as a whole….
