President Sall frees 1066 prisoners

President Macky SALL has pardoned 1,066 prisoners in observance of his country’s 59th independence anniversary, the Justice Ministry announced in Dakar.
The reports however did not say whether the former Dakar Mayor Khalifa Sall is among. However observers believed the mass prisoner release and the president’s call for dialogue are indications that he could consider releasing the mayor now that elections are over. Sall who is not related to the president is considered to be the biggest electoral threat to Macky.
