What Christ’s death means for you and me

The death of Jesus  may be a sad and undeserved one, but the promise that stems from His sacrifice is one for which everybody can rejoice.

In John 10:10 “Jesus said, the thief (satan) comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have to the fullest”. Adam and Eve delibrately disobeyed God’s commands, consequently,  their sinful nature separated them and all of humanity from the presence of God.

Scripture tells us the only way human beings could be reconciled with God,  was for one without sin to sacrifice   Himself on behalf of the human race. Jesus was such a sacrifice, sacrifice of atonement through faith in His blood. It was a huge sacrifice, because He endured a lot of suffering, pain, rejection,  and finally crucifixion. Since He was sinless, death and the grave had no power over Him. So…Jesus rose again on the third  day. His death on our behalf and subsequent resurrection, means that whoever believes in Him can live for ever, enjoy eternal life.

With the carnal mind, it is not easy to understand or accept but when we believe, it becomes true.

One thing is certain, Christians all over the world rejoice at Christ’s resurrection  because it marked a turning point in the relationship between God and humanity.

Christ is alive , alive forevermore.
