Real de Banjul Football Club announced yesterday that it has transferred three players to Génération Foot in Senegal. The players are Cherno Jobe, Bubacarr Sonko and Alieu Jallow.
The trio has since joined the Senegalese champions as they prepare for the upcoming season of football both in the domestic Senegalese league and the Caf Champions league campaign.

Cherno Jobe and Bubacarr Sonko are central midfielders, who not only create chances but score goals themselves, while Alieu Jallow is an exciting wide player who combines skill and trickery with a superb right foot.

Speaking to the club website www.realdebanjul.gm from Dakar, Cherno Jobe was full of praise for the club management: “This is a dream come true for me. I have accomplished one of my set targets which is to play in a professional league and thanks to the Real de Banjul management I have realised that.”

“Génération Foot is a big club in Senegal because they have produced some of Africa’s best players in Liverpool’s Sadio Mane and Ismaila Sarr of Rennes and I want to follow in their footsteps,” Jobe added.
Bubacarr Sonko who has first team experience with Real de Banjul before joining the 2016/17 Senegalese champions is a man on a mission.

“I want to play in the top leagues in Europe and Génération Foot has the potential to make that possible. Since we first came here for trials they (coaches and management) were impressed and wanted us to stay and sign contracts.”

Club President Williem Abraham congratulated the trio on their move and challenged them to better the records set by Ablie Jallow and Bun Sanneh at the club.

“I am delighted to see the trio sign for Génération Foot because their playing style resembles that of the team. They have a bright future ahead of them and I have challenged them to do even better than Ablie and Bun,” Willie concluded.

“We have a great partnership with Génération Foot as Real de Banjul has the “exclusive” rights to take any Gambian player to Generation Foot,” he said.
