Madame Lady Sarjo Mballow-Barrow formally received the flag as patroness of Sunday’s wrestling bonanza designed to spread love and reconciliation among Gambians from all walks of life and political persuasion.
Receiving the flag at State House yesterday, Madame Mballow Barrow commended the organisers and promoters of the event, Musa Suso and Lamin Cham of the Champions Sounds for the initiative and invited everyone to turn up and promote peace and sports.

Musa Suso who led the delegation thanked Madame Barrow for accepting the honour and her willingness to contribute to the worthy cause of uniting people around the event. The delegation to State House also comprises Alfusainou Gano, Pa Malick Cessay,Cherno Brikama Jawla and Haddy Ndow all of them dynamic youth activists and promoters of national interests and unity.

About ten combats will be staged on Sunday climaxing with the main fight between Mustapha Gueye of Fass Senegal and Boy Ball from Jabang in The Gambia.
Event designer Lamin Cham of Champions Sounds said wrestling is the only local sport that reflects the true talent and tradition of our people. “All tribes play wrestling from centuries to date and it is the only sport where you don’t need foreign coaches.”

Mr Cham commended Musa Suso describing him as an icon for his visionary contribution to take the event to the national stage. “That has added momentum to the event, which features over 20 clubs and dozens of wrestlers, which are going to be paraded and recognized as heroes,” the Champion Sounds manager said.
