Brimaka UTD and GAF clash tonight for second place

The GFF league continues tonight with Brikama United playing Gambia Armed Forces for the second place position in the league as Real de Banjul plays their own youngsters Elite United FC in the late kick off, as Bye Malleh still searches for his much expected magic touch badly needed at Real.

The GAF-Brikama United match is billing to be a titanic tussle as both teams race to be in second place to launch pressure on league leaders Fortune FC.

Going to this evening’s match, the two teams are leveled on points but GAF has a superior goal difference. It is also coming at a time when Brikama United regained their form registering four straight victories unlike GAF, who had a disappointing defeat against Fortune, a further disappointing draw against Hawks last week.

Both teams however have the two most prolific strikers in the league who are now fighting an individual battle for the league’s top scorer award. The last time these two teams played it ended in a nail-biting 5-goal thriller in Basori, with GAF defeating Brikama 3 goals to 2 and the goals were shared between the duo, Saikou Ceesay and Papis Nyassi respectively. 

In the late kick off tonight, Real’s Bye Malleh Wadda will continue the search for his magic bullet much needed to shoot Real de Banjul to its deserved place in the league.  He could have his job easy, given the opposition, Elite United, is an offshoot of Real, but Elite is pretty capable of causing a humiliation in their own ambition to finish strong this season. Malleh who replaced Ebou Jarra last month as coach of of Real de Banjul is under pressure to get his first three points. The match is expected to kick-off at 10:30pm.

Tomorrow Friday, Waa Banjul will play Tallinding as BK Milan faces Gamtel.

Saturday shall see the return of coach Jane Joof and his Fortune FC with their new signing–former Gambian international Momodou Ceesay. They will face Hawks who also has former Scorpion midfielder Dawda Bah who in fact featured for them in the first round.

The second match Saturday is between Banjul United and GPA while Wallidan play Marimoo in Sunday’s single match at 9 PM.
