Gambia international Assan Ceesay made the headlines in Switzerland at the weekend after scoring on his debut for FC Chiasso.
Torres, as fondly called, joined second-tier Chiasso on a season-long loan deal from top-tier FC Lugano a few weeks back.

A statement from the club’s official website read: “FC Chiasso announces that it has temporarily acquired until June 30, 2018 footballer Assan Ceesay, a striker from the Gambia, class 94, from FC Lugano.”
The former Gamtel attacker was given his debut by Guillermo Abascal and he repaid the coach’s faith in him by opening the scoring after four minutes, starring the entire match that ended in a 2-2 draw at Servette FC on Saturday.

“It was the first game, we are a very young team and I am happy for the point and for having scored in my first official goal for Chiasso,” the former ASC Niarry Tally striker told reporters after the game at the Stade de Genève.

“It was not an easy match but we fought until the end. I am happy with my goal but no matter how many goals I score, I have the team’s interest first before anything.”
FC Chiasso is a Swiss football club based in Chiasso. It was founded in 1905 and have played in the Italian first league between 1914 and 1923. The team is located at the Swiss border with Italy.
