The secondary schools sports association will this weekend start the qualifiers for this year’s athletics championship.
The programme starts in Farafenni on Friday where NBR and LRR schools will take to the field for places in the final. According to officials the qualifiers will then move to Basse the following weekend for schools from URR and CRR.

Last night the association held a press briefing on the preparations for this much sought after athletics meeting, the biggest in the country.
This year, the championship received a great financial boost for participants as the winner will get D100,000, and D50, 000 for the second place finisher in the senior secondary schools category while the winner in the Upper Basic category will get D50,000 and the runner up D25, 000.
