KitAid donates to Sukuta schools

On the recommendation of the Sukuta Sports Committee, the KitAid country representative George Gomez last week presented a set of KitAid football jerseys to Sukuta Lower Basic School and Sukuta Sanchaba Lower Basic School. This was a promise Mr Gomez made back in November when he pledged support to the eventual winner of the Super Nawettan championship which Sukuta won.
Each school also received a new ball donated by Omar Jatta, a Gambian from Juffereh in the North Bank now resident in the UK.

“Omar is very active supporting clubs, football academies and his region with sportswear,” Mr Gomez said at the ceremony.
The presentation was witnessed by pupils and teachers from both schools and officials of the Sukuta Sports Committee led by President Seedy Manneh who is also the referee Manager at the Football House. The newly elected councilor of Sukuta ward Lamin Sanyang graced the occasion.

The head of Executive committee of the Schools Mother’s Club Sireh Cham also attended. The Mothers Club which was formed to help the school by organising fund raising events to support the school buy new furniture, repair toilets among other voluntary exercises.
KitAid is a charity that distributes recycled and donated football kit to Africa, sharing the passion for football with under privileged children and adults in developing countries,. Since its exception in The Gambia KitAid has distributed numerous consignments to schools, sports clubs around the country and Senegal where Mr Gomez also serves.
