Nyakoi and Tahir senior secondary schools from Upper and Lower River regions respectively have won the 2021 United Purpose/ Tekkifii inter-schools football championship competed among schools countrywide.
The final phase of the championship featured 10 teams who qualified from their regions to play at the Jarra Soma mini- stadium.
In the finals, Nyakoi beat Kiang Karantaba 1-0 to lay claims to the boys’ title whiles Tahir defeated Bakalarr 3-0 to lift the girls’ trophy.
Speaking at the finals, Lamin Manjang, Project Officer of United Purpose said his organisation will continue to support through their partners Tekkifii.
Muhammed Saidykhan, one of the coordinators of the programme thanked both United Purpose and Tekkifii for supporting the venture and sports development in general.
“We are hopeful we will come bigger and better in 2022 with more programmes in other disciplines.”
