President Yahya Jammeh has dismissed the volume of Western aid to The Gambia, noting that it pales into significance compared to what their exploitation has cost Africa. When asked in a Press TV interview about his criticism of the West despite their help to The Gambia in building roads, education and budgetary support, among others, he replied:
