Access Bank emerges ‘Bank of the Year’ in Ghana

The bank was rated as that country’s fastest growing financial institution for the year 2013, barely a year after being adjudged the Best Growing Bank in Ghana.

Dolapo Ogundimu, managing director, Access Bank Ghana Limited, said: “These awards represent a significant milestone in Access Bank. I therefore dedicate these awards to our staff, loyal customers and other stakeholders, whose contribution, patronage and support made this achievement possible’.

The bank was also recognised as the Best Bank in Corporate Social Responsibility and emerged 1st and 2nd runners up in the Enterprise Finance and Household Finance categories respectively.

Ogundimu further added “I want to assure you that Access Bank will not rest on its oars in delivering to our customers an enjoyable service experience. Over the next couple of months, we will be unveiling our refreshed brand to signify our rededication to delivering quality service, speed and security in meeting customers and stakeholders’ aspirations”.

Also speaking on the award Herbert Wigwe, group managing director, Access Bank Group,  said: “We are delighted and honored to receive this prestigious award, we dedicate this award to all financial institutions in the developing and emerging markets, who despite the challenges have chosen to pursue Environmental, Social and Governance Best Practices”.

The bank currently operates through a network of about 366 branches across major cities and commercial centres in Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo and offices in United Kingdom.
