Speaking to The Standard, the lady PRO said the poor state of the field and the dilapidated condition of the general facilities at the park is a threat to the development of football in Bakau.
“The situation was so bad this year that the nawettan started very late as people ponder whether any football would be organised in Bakau this year,” she lamented.
Ceesay further revealed that her committee has been knocking on doors and is planning to stage sustained fund-generating activities to carry out major works at the grounds. She expressed delight that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has given D300,000 towards the project which is currently with the Bakau development and advisory committee, the body responsible for the park.]]>
