It will not be another title for champions Serekunda West. The boys from the West surrendered the title in the dusty Serekunda East Park last night one match less than their last season’s expedition. Coming against a lethal Bakau side in last night’s semi-finals, SK West played their heart out but failed to contain a vicious Bakau strike force which buried one of the few chances they created with a decisive strike by Sulayman Sanyang aka R9. Bakau’s victory was greeted with wild celebrations in the town.

The Niumi footballers and passionate fans shed tears at the Serekunda West Park when they bowed out 5-4 to Serekunda East on penalties after a goalless draw.

Last night’s semis bring the curtain closer to the floor in this   exciting tournament which was once twelve zones but now down to two. All roads now lead to the Serekunda East Park on Sunday for the final between Bakau and Serekunda East.
