The 2015 Gambia Basketball league started over the weekend with Brikama pulling waves by shaming defending champions YMCA 56-47 in a thrilling opener at the Independence Stadium.

YMCA replied with intensity in the second quarter but Brikama maintained their composure and went to the break with a solid 39-15 lead.

The champions’ focus continue to plummet in the third quarter allowing Brikama to extend their lead to 44-27

YMCA, however, started a formidable comeback to gradually cut the lead but Brikama’s playmaker Modou Sanneh and teammates refused to relent and finally won the encounter  56-47 points.

Earlier though YMCA girls had no such trouble in living up to their billing by walking-over Kotu’s girls 55-7 points in a one sided game.
