Speaking at the conclusion of a successful league, Njie said despite the lack of a sponsor the teams and players gave their best to ensure a good national league.
He further disclosed that a series of plans have been drawn up to promote basketball in the country. These ,he said included a ‘basketball on the wheel’ programme and a massive selection process aim at building a strong national team for the Gambia. “It is important that we have a good team that can compete in regional and other international competitions,” he said.
The GBA president said The Gambia would have to prepare to participate in All Africa Games and other competitions all of which require good preparation and funding. He thanked all teams and players who took part in the league and his own officials.
