Imam Touray was speaking at Brikama Misera during the laying of the foundation stone of a police post. He said the work of the police is very essential in the country and that the government should redouble its efforts in complementing the police force and other security forces in the country.

“If the government is spending hundreds of dalasis in combating drugs, it should spend more because drug abuse is indeed spoiling the country.”

Imam Touray further noted that the Islamic religion has clearly advised against association with drugs because they are illegal and can induce the user to harmful and illegal actions such as murder, rape and other anti-social behaviour.
