The long drawn out fixtures provided sustained alertness and stiff competition as teams compete for the coveted trophy and players toiled for places in the much-respected Brufut zonal squad.
Meanwhile, selection has already started for players for the Super Nawettan team after officials named a new technical team to lead the zone’s third campaign in this tourney. Brufut started with a bang in 2012, their maiden appearance, reaching the semi-finals but last year’s first round exit has left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth and there are widespread calls for positive change this year. In a separate development the knock-out fixtures have been drawn with action expected soon in that competition too.
The organising committee is racing against time; to complete the nawettan before November 24, the start date of the super nawettan.
