Chimo takes another jewel in Brikama

Even without playmaker Landing Darboe, Chimo meant real business from the start with Modou Lamin Jatta making effective use of a strong starting to bury a third minute lead  that jolted New Town United and amused spectators. His efforts broke down and injured the opponent’s confidence whose troubles mounted when Shekih Tijan Gibba fetched a second goal for Chimo.

Without goal merchant Kaaba Jobe, the zone’s leading scorer last season, New Town looked ordinary but refused to succumb with Foday Trawally coming close to changing proceedings at the Box bar. Glorious chances fell to him but went begging for finishing. Chimo held on the lead and were duly crowned with a glittering trophy and D8,000 as New Town United earned D5,000. The Box bar was again jam packed. The nawettan continues.
