According to club president Assan Ndure, Fortune FC wants to extend that ambition to the continental level. ”We would take every game as it comes. We are aware of the huge financial challenges involved in this competition, which often affects Gambian teams. But we will not be bother.

What is important is for us is to go as far as possible on the pitch, and God willing we shall be able to back every progress with the necessary funding. I am not saying we can do it all by our selves but we are going to devise means of attracting sponsorship, and of course we are urging and expecting the government and the GFF to give support because this Fortune FC representing The Gambia now and not just the club. Again, if we reach the group stages or so we would start earning money from Caf,” Ndure said.

He said the team has already reinforced the squad with good players and there is strong desire to go as far as possible.
