The dinner event which saw awards given to winners in different categories was attended by the Minister of Finance, the Central Bank governor, GRA management and staff as well as representatives of a cross-section of tax paying entities.
Addressing the gathering, GRA acting Commissioner General, Yankuba Darboe, explained: “In accordance with best practices, we have set aside this day to recognise our valuable customers for their continuous compliance with the Gambia Revenue Authority given their pivotal role in the government’s development agenda. We will endeavour to make this day an annual event to emphasise the importance of compliance with our revenue laws and to publicly applaud the most compliant tax payers.”
Africell won the Most Compliant GSM Company of the year followed by Q-Cell. NetPage won Internet Service Provider of the Yea and Afri-Med won Health Practitioner of the Year.
Other winners for compliance with tax regulations include PKF Accountancy firm, BT Associates, Trust Bank, GTB, Sandard Chartered Bank, Sunshine Insurance, Global Securities Insurance and legal practitioner Ida Drameh, among a host of others.
