In GFF League today

Brikama’s new kids on the block, Bombada, will mark their debut in the GFF top flight this evening at the Box Bar, against Armed Forces. The team that gained promotion last season is bent on ascending to the hearts of Brikama’s passionate football fans who must now split their attention amongst two first division clubs in the town, the powerful Brikama United and this new sensation called Bombada. United bungled their first hurdle on Sunday drawing Interior in their season opener  so if Bombada can  shock league giants Armed Forces today, they will pave themselves  a solid road to the hearts of fans.

The same day, champions   Real de Banjul will return from the weekend Super Cup triumph to face familiar rivals GPA on whom nothing is known so far this season.

The vanquished in that Super Cup, Banjul United, who had a fantastic first round last season, are up against Gamtel who will be keen to regain their respect lost when they ended a barren season last year. That unpleasant memory for this four- time successive FA Cup winners is enough of a motivation to go for the kill from the very first hurdle tonight at the Serekunda East Park. Bakau United and Hawks are the early fliers in the league that started Sunday. They beat Serekunda United and Wallidan 1-0 respectively to jointly top the table. But for how long?
