The expansion: YAWS decided to move back to The Gambia in 2005, knowing already what she wanted; that was her own fashion line because she felt it was time. She then launched YAWS Creations and has ever since been one of Gambia’s best fashion designers and stylists. She now owns one of the most premiere workshops and showrooms around with her brand focused on promoting African elegance and highlighting the beautiful gem an African woman is.

Did YAWS stop there?

NO! She does interior design and events for Government, hotels and private individuals with a vision to make Gambian designers players in both the continental and world fashion arena.

Is she involved in event organisation?

Yes, she hosted many fashion shows, a few being the well publicized TEKOCHI in 2010, which propelled Gambian contemporary fashion designers to the forefront of international design and the recent F.A.C.E in 2013, while she was also the brain behind the cultural dress portrayed by one of the Wolof ethnic groups in the 2014 July 22 cultural parade where her group emerged winners.
