Kebbeh impressed by Serahule football championship

“Formerly, many see Serahules as only business enthusiasts but today it is quite evident that we also know football. Serahules are not only playing football but also leading football as well so you cannot talk about football in The Gambia and leaving us behind,” he teased.

On a more serious note President Kebbeh praised the efforts of the organisers, the Soninkara Sport Development Committee and said the GFF was willing to work with everybody for the development of football in the country.

He promised that next year, the GFF will stand next to the committee to make sure that the tournament is not only limited to the urban area.

Sulayman Gumaneh who sponsored the trophy said he would always support the development of football and unity of the people of the Serahule community. 

Garawol who won the championship were given D12,000 while the runners-up Gambisara went home with D7,000.  Tijan Ceesay captain of Garawol was awarded best player while Muhammed Hydara of Numuyel got the golden boot.  Gambissara was voted the most disciplined team.
