Nyan, 25, joins Real de Banjul on a free transfer from Gamtel where he’s been captain for several seasons.
Nyan has won the Gambian FA Cup title with Gamtel for four consecutive years in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
The midfielder has also been a key figure in Gamtel’s success in international competitions namely the Caf Confederations Cup and the Wafu.
The Gambia Scorpions’ midfielder told Real’s club website: “I am glad to join Real de Banjul as one of the top clubs in The Gambia. I feel like home coming back because I was here before going to Gamtel.”
Real’s president William Abraham said Matarr Nyan will add “power, maturity and quality” to their squad.
Abraham added: “He is a great signing for us. He is a player with good experience at both club and international level, who will add significant quality to our squad.”
