Mr Yoneoka and Governor Hydara engaged in an in depth conversation about recent US government projects completed in the region, while discussing the possibility for increased collaboration between the US Embassy and the West Coast Region.
Governor Hydara took Mr Yoneoka on a tour of the West Coast Region where they visited various initiatives reflecting the region’s development. During the tour, the governor and chargé d’affaires visited and discussed the following projects: The new 25 kilometer tar road linking Brikama, Dasilami, and Dimbaya; construction of a state of the art skills training center in Ndemban village; upgrading of the Brikama Health Centre; implementation of a rural electricity project in the Foni region and electricity and water supply extension in certain densely populated communities in the region.
Mr Yoneoka was impressed by the projects and expressed the US Embassy’s desire to work with Governor Hydara and the hard-working communities in the region to build an even stronger collaborative relationship between the United States of America and The Gambia.
