Joining the debate, former GFA secretary general Kebba Yoro Manneh, told The Standard yesterday: “Under the circumstances, both government and the football federation officials would find it hard to effect a change of heart by Caf on the suspensions. Since GFF has ruled out admitting guilt, and the NSC seen as government meddling, we should therefore project the Rectification Committee and allow them to lead the negotiations on behalf of the Gambian people for a pardon without much face losing for The Gambia,” he said.
Manneh said he believed the way for forward was for The Gambia to ask for pardon. If we use people who can win Fifa and Caf’s respect, we could stand a chance.
