Yesterday The Standard contacted various authorities for explanations but none could definitely state who they members are. However, unconfirmed sources hinted that the existing Rectification Committee put up by MoYS in the wake of the pervious suspensions of the GFF executive, might just be installed the NC2, But when The Standard contacted one official of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, he said: “This is a Fifa matter now and everything has to be done with them leading.”
Meanwhile The Standard reliably learnt a delegation from Fifa is expected in Banjul soon to set the ball rolling for identifying and installing the five-man committee.
Once they are done with their work, the five-man committee will not be able to contest the subsequent elections of September 15 according to Fifa.
Meanwhile, the dissolved GFF executive had not made any comment on the current situation. However, the Fifa dissolution does not affect the secretariat and administrative staff of the GFF who will continue to function as usual.
